Poem on the Spot

I wrote this poem on the spot
In it you will see all that I am not
Its a simple sample of a smattering of me
And if I'm not careful
You won't know all that I can be

But scooped and served bunches of words
Rhyming pairs or coupleted thirds
Will never be a replacement
Though I hope not an embarassment
Of the things which I be

The Fall

Your skin may be made of glass
But your heart is made of stone
And since my efforts are in vain
I will just leave you alone

My words weren't suggestions
Nor was my affection an idea
And since you excel at deflecting my attempts
You're probably not even hearing this my dear

Your thoughts aren't just audible
They are colorfully clear
Your presence is too close
You are undoubtedly
Painfully near

White

And the flocks of doves
Escaped my heart
Brushing my face with the tips of their wings
Turning it pink
Turning it red
